Dr Kristy Plum graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Her passion for dentistry is evident through her ongoing studies, where she graduated as a Dental Technician from Griffith University in 2009, and an Oral Health Therapist from The University of Queensland in 2012.
Kristy has gained many dental experiences, treating at clinics in Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin, Mareeba and alongside a Maxillofacial surgeon in Cairns.
Dr. Kristy Plum brings a relaxed, and comforting style to dentistry, ensuring the patient is well informed, and able to enjoy their experience. She has expressed great interest in many areas of dentistry, with a particular goal of changing peoples’ perception of visiting the Dentist.
Dr Kristy is currently learning sign language as another way of being able to communicate with patients and the general public on the importance of oral health.
Before joining the team at Gentle Dental, Kristy established her own personal training business, and with her husband they built a health food company that focuses on the importance of gut health and mental health. She is eager to educate people on just how important it is to look after our body from the inside out, and the effects that poor oral health can have on our overall well-being.
When she is not treating patients, Kristy enjoys CrossFit, yoga, drinking great coffee, travelling the world with her husband and reading books by the ocean. Her calming presence and trusting nature radiates from the moment you meet her.
